The iTop solution is strong in linking servicedesk and CMDB – configuration database. We decided to take this “seeing in context” to the next level. That’s why we implemented a connection to Enterprise Architecture Management tools. In the case of the ArchiREPO product, this involves instantly displaying the impact analysis on a ticket and linking it to the CMDB. As a result, this means, for example, that for an outage ticket it is possible to identify the cause (server downtime) and the effect (key services compromised and a list of people/departments affected). Furthermore, the link between EA and CMDB guarantees up-to-date and unduplicated data in both systems.
